Witcher and Cyberpunk’s CD Projekt is teaming up with Scopely for an IP adaptation

CD Projakt is associating with Scopely for a game based on its IP.

The association was announced during the CD Projakt’s earning call on Tuesday. No details were announced, nor the specific IP that the game will use.

The game will combine the Polish independent developer with one of the world’s largest mobile games developers.

Escapially, the mobile giant behind Monopoly Go, announced recently that Niantic will acquire, the study behind Pokémon Go.

The acquisition will cause the leaders of the Niantic Games Study for a long time Kei Kawai and Ed Wu join Scopely to continue supervising the diverse developer projects. It is said that the agreement is valued at $ 3.5 billion.

Niantic, the developer who went to fame due to the overwhelming success of Pokémon Go, now has more than 30 million monthly active users in Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, Pikmin Bloom and more.

CD Projakt is currently working on Witcher 4 and several other projects. CD Projekt has announced that more than 400 developers are currently working on the project, which describes as a complete production.

Speaking to VGC last year after the game‘s debut trailer at the game awards, CD Projekt discussed the decision to make Ciri the protagonist of the game, in a change of Geralt. This decision was found with a violent reaction of the small number of fans online.

“The best we can do, and I think this is really our goal, is to demonstrate that with Ciri, we can do many interesting things.”
