Shake England chose to bowl vs West Indies
England won their third consecutive toss and, in keeping with the series so far, elected to bowl first against the West Indies in the third T20i in St. Lucia.
The toss was delayed by an hour after heavy overnight rain meant there were still wet patches in the outfield at Daren Sammy cricket Ground, before wetter weather prolonged the wait. When he arrived, Jos Buttler scored a hat-trick of correct decisions.
The games so far have developed in a similar way; a back-and-forth first innings followed by a routine second innings in favor of England. The floodlights and dew transformed the conditions to favor the batsmen in the two chases, and that is likely to be the case again. The rains have brought a little more moisture to the air, as well as a noticeably heavy field, with drying agent spread across problem areas in the depths.
History leans in favor of the tourists here, as they won the two previous matches here; the most recent was an eight-wicket win in the T20 World Cup earlier this year. It was England’s most convincing performance in an otherwise listless tournament, even if they overcame the hosts to reach the semi-finals.
