On Thursday, the Spanish Football Federation announced that all suits in the Valencia region will be put on hold until next week.
“Beyond the postponements, Spanish football wanted to show its solidarity with those affected, especially with the relatives of those who died in this natural disaster; and, therefore, all the matches played yesterday in the competitions organized by the RFEF were preceded by respectful minutes of silence,” the RFEF mentioned in a comment. “This circumstance will be repeated during the weekend.”
Real Madrid also donated one million euros to help with holiday efforts following the flood. Villarreal’s match against Rayo Vallecano and Levante’s match against Málaga also caused suspense. Los Angeles League clubs also pledged to help raise the Red Move budget in support of Christmas efforts.
Following sadness in El Clásico, falling to Barcelona, Real Madrid will have too much past to prepare for their Champions League match against Milan on Tuesday. Valencia’s game will then be an away game in the Copa del Rey against Parala Esucela on Wednesday and Real Madrid will be back in action in Spain on November 9 when they host Osasuna.
