Lancashire have signed Anderson Phillip for the first four months of the summer of 2025. Phillip is expected to be available for 11 County Championship matches as well as the T20 Blast group stage.

Phillip played three Championship matches at the end of last season, taking 15 wickets at 23.93, but was unable to help Lancashire avoid relegation from the First Division.

“I really enjoyed my time at Lancashire at the end of last season and am excited by the opportunity to return for the 2025 season to spend a longer period at Emirates Old Trafford,” Phillip said.

“Helping Lancashire return to Division One at the first request is my number one priority for next season and I hope I can put in the performances with the ball that can help the team achieve this.

“The level of first-class cricket in England is high and the closest you can get to playing Test cricket, so I’m hoping to come back next summer and continue to test myself in those conditions, learning and improving my game.” .

Phillip, 28, has played two Tests and five ODIs for the West Indies, the most recent of which came in 2022.

Lancashire director of cricket performance Mark Chilton said: “We were hugely impressed by Anderson’s performances during the final three matches of last season and jumped at the opportunity to bring him back for a longer spell next season.

“Valley [Benkenstein] and I have continually spoken about our desire to add more pace to our bowling attack as we look to win more red-ball matches. We know Anderson will offer that and has the added advantage of being familiar with our environment.

“Anderson showed a very good attitude during his time with us and we believe he has all the right attributes for a fast bowler, with room to grow and improve his game. We look forward to working with Anderson again next season and helping out.” “It will allow him to move forward and achieve his international ambitions.”
