“I think my last two entries [in the WBBL] “It didn’t go so well,” Rodrigues said. “Grace Harris and Laura Harris texted me and said, ‘Jemi, your extra coverage campaign is the best.’ Don’t stop playing that. Even if you go out, it’s okay. But he continues to dominate.” So I think that really helped me. [the Strikers] It’s just to have that kind of support, first of all, from your team, that the team still believes in you and at the same time, they just say, ‘No, we’re still going to take the positive path.’ “We will continue to play cricket and bat positively with intention.”
“So 100% that mentality is just learning from them. [Australians]. There is always a saying that if there are two options, always choose the positive one. So I think it’s something I’ve also been working on a lot in my game and having people around you after two failures made me have those doubts: “should I continue playing with this mentality or not?” They said, “just do your best” and that really helped me. “This is something I will take with me 100% and I hope I can bring it out with the Australians and continue to do well.”
Rodrigues feels facing other international bowlers in leagues around the world is good for his confidence, especially with the ODI World Cup scheduled for less than a year.
“Playing these foreign leagues and playing the WPL helps because you play against the best in the world in all these leagues and at the same time you can play in different conditions,” he said. “Each ground is very different from the next and I think one of the best parts of playing franchise cricket is that you get used to the conditions and you get to play against the best players in women’s cricket.
“Imagine just going out there and doing well, how much confidence you will get coming back to the Indian team when you face these players. So I think it’s good preparation going into the World Cup. At the same time, it’s good games because the more games “We play, the better we get. I think that’s the best part about having the WBBL, the WPL, the Hundred, the Caribbean Premier League and all the leagues.”
“For me, nothing changes much in my technique,” Rodrigues said. “Nothing will change much in my way of thinking. I think I will continue to go for playing positive cricket, but at the same time I will be more sensible because it is a longer format and I will try to extend this innings even further, scoring more and more runs for India. So “I think that’s a similar mentality. Again, it’s about how I evaluate the conditions and the situation.”
“I think it was a very good initiative by the ICC. I remember when I had gone along that line because sometimes social media can be hard. In the end we are all human, we are all here doing the best we can, trying to do the best we can. We can. As much as we can. In some ways we’re great and in other ways we’re not. It’s just tough when we see people commenting on all sorts of things on social media, but it was a very nice thing for ICC to just keep us in the game. so pure [needed to] Just go out and play cricket and enjoy cricket instead of dealing with all these things. “That’s right, it was very nice of the ICC.”
