WATCH: Jets’ Malachi Corley drops ball short of goal line to get easy touchdown off the board

The “Thursday Night Football” game between the Unutilized York Jets and the Houston Texans started slowly. The teams traded punts, punts and sacks early and combined for just 96 total yards on 30 plays in the first quarter.

And the closest thing the Jets came to was playing important games to reach the top zone. Except, really, not anymore. Because big rookie receiver Malachi Corley dropped the ball before crossing the target series in what would have been the first (and probably best) landing of his NFL career.

At first, the games dominated a classification, but in video analysis, the results of the games were changed to a fumble and, since the ball went out of bounds in the middle of the back of the point zone. , a touchback that gave the ball back to Houston.

Corley, a third-round pick in this month’s NFL Draft out of Western Kentucky, hasn’t made much of an impact so far this season. He had played just eight offensive snaps before Thursday night and had a professional touch. The second time he was given the ball he looked extremely promising, until he made a mistake that hopes to be remembered for a long, long time.

The mistake also came just days after the same thing happened to Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, who was lucky enough to fumble the ball just as his nose had crossed the scoring drive. So unlike Corley, he won’t be remembered alongside players like DeSean Jackson and Leon Lett.
