Antetokounmpo sat at the podium with a comically large second face watching reporters from beneath his own. Antetokounmpo was asked about his Halloween dress after the game, and the Dollars superstar said fatherhood comes before basketball, win or lose.
“You’re married, so you already know,” Antetokounmpo said. “You don’t have a say in the issues. When the year starts, you have a schedule. That’s what you’re going to do today. You’re going to go out and observe. You’re going to come back again. You’re going to have interaction with the kids, the one closest to you you go to sleep. After we have a costume in a position for you, you will put on that robe.
“No matter what you feel. Win or lose, you will wear that costume. At the end of the day, you are a father after a basketball player. That is why I choose this costume. I am a father first. I have three children.”
Before putting on his Mr. Potato Head dress, Antetokounmpo put on a display, despite his team’s loss. The Dollars star and spud impersonator led all scorers with 38 rushing points, including 11 rebounds.
Unfortunately for Milwaukee, their 3-point defense was often awful. Chicago scored 21 off-target 3-pointers, allowing them to pull away in the second half.
