The Brazilian international completed his hat-trick in 31 minutes, maintaining his most admirable fall for finishing. Vinicius won the ball about halfway through Dortmund’s half and danced around a handful of opposition players as he headed to work, creating a strong scoring opportunity from a similar size and was not out of it.

Vinicius scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute, also of similar size, and then added a second goal to his tally in the 86th minute. His second role was as notable as the third, creating a run from the Real Madrid half before firing home from the edge of the penalty area and score.

He now has five goals and five assists in 14 games in all competitions this season, forging his own legacy amid a star-studded Real Madrid side that remains one of the most dominant teams in Europe. Vinicius is making a name for delivering in the big moments, like his goals in the 2022 and 2024 Champions League finals.
His achievements over the past week, including 15 goals during his season-ending Los Angeles League winning streak, make him the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or at that time. Vinicius has the vote of confidence from his Real Madrid teammate, Luka Modric, who is one of two players not named Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award since 2008.
“Definitely, but not just tonight but the whole season, he was exceptional,” Modric told CBS Sports the closest thing to Real Madird’s victory. “We’re excited to see who’s going to win, but I think overall, when you look at how he played last season and what he’s doing this season and especially after tonight, he deserves it.”
“I think he’s going to win because of what he did last year. The three goals of [Tuesday] will help for the next Ballon d’Or,” mentioned Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, the one closest to the sport.
Vinicius is nominated for the award along with six of his club teammates, five of whom were part of last season’s LA League and Champions League double-winning team. The Ballon d’Or ritual will hit the park on Monday in Paris.
