What to know
The New York Knicks are making a trip to take on the Utah Jazz at 5:00 pm ET on Saturday at the Delta Center. The Jazz come into this matchup hampered by four straight losses, while the Knicks will bounce back with four straight wins.
The Knicks are coming off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 138-122 victory over the Suns on Wednesday.
The Knicks’ victory was a true team effort, with many players putting in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jalen Brunson, who went 7 of 11 from long range and had a double-double with 36 points and ten assists. With that solid performance, Brunson is now averaging an impressive 25.2 points per game. The team also had the help of Karl-Anthony Towns, who had a double-double with 34 points and ten rebounds.
The Knicks worked as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they have now recorded at least 25 assists in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, the Jazz couldn’t beat the Spurs on Thursday and fell 126-118. Utah was up 66-46 in the second but couldn’t maintain the lead.
The defeat does not tell the whole story, since several players played good games. One of the most active was Lauri Markkanen, who scored 27 points plus two blocks.
New York has been doing well recently, winning five of its last six games, giving a big boost to its 9-6 record this season. As for Utah, their loss dropped their record to 3-12.
Saturday’s game is shaping up to be a tough matchup: the Knicks haven’t turned the ball over easily this season, having averaged just 11.4 turnovers per game (they rank second in turnovers per game overall).
