Unity has pledged to support games developers with “Official support for Nintendo Switch 2”.
In a statement, the motor manufacturer said that the support will soon be available through a complement to Unity 6 for approved Nintendo developers, “further expanding unity commitment to allow creators to give life to their visions in the widest range of platforms.”
Developers who work in the new Nintendo system can expect to rendererized and performance optimization, end -to -end multiplayer solutions and improved development documentation.
In addition, Unity also undertakes to “facilitate the developers to carry their existing Nintendo Switch games” to Nintendo Switch 2 by “guaranteeing complete compatibility with the key features in Unity 6”, including renewed input systems, compilation profiles and incremental construction pipe.
“We are excited to offer official support to Nintendo Switch 2,” said Matthew Bromberg, CEO and president of Unity.
“Unity has tried the battle of our support for Nintendo Switch 2 through the practical development of a launching title of day one. The valuable feedback obtained during the development process provided learning that will boost more improvements to the Unity engine for those developers who build new games for this game system.”
For those who lost it, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5. The price of the Switch 2 base unit was confirmed as $ 450 (or £ 396 in the United Kingdom) – $ 500 with Mario Kart World inside, with the orders early on April 9.
