The Switch strategy role-playing game Triangle Strategy has been removed from the Nintendo eShop for unknown reasons.
Although the 2022 game is still available on Steam, Square Enix has confirmed via X/Twitter that it is “temporarily unavailable” for Nintendo Switch for now. However, players who have already purchased it can still download it whenever they want.
Square Enix did not explain why the game was removed from sale on the Nintendo eShop, nor did it give any indication of when it will return.
“Triangle Strategy is temporarily unavailable for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop,” Square Enix wrote. “Those who have already purchased the game will be able to download it.
“We are working on this and will update when the game is available for purchase again.”
A similar issue occurred with Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler role-playing game in March. That was also temporarily delisted after it switched publishers between Nintendo and Square Enix.
We’ve reached out to Nintendo and will update you as we learn more.
Triangle Strategy sold 800,000 copies worldwide in its first two weeks, 200,000 of which were sold in Japan and Asia alone.
In Eurogamer’s Triangle Strategy review, we said that “despite moving slowly in both story and combat, Triangle Strategy ultimately rewards your patience.”
