New Orleans Pelicans striker Trey Murphy III Equipment announced Monday night.
The Pelicans said the injury occurred when Murphy dislocated his right shoulder during the first quarter of the defeat of Monday 127-81 before the Detroit Pistons.
Murphy left the game after diving for a loose ball. He played only one minute. The Pelicans lost for the seventh time in eight games.
Murphy had, very much, the best season of his four -year career. He averaged 21.2 points, 6.4 more points for game than he averaged last season. He was also averaging professional improvements in rebounds (5.1) and assists (3.5), and recorded his third season with more than 150 3s.
The Pelicans said they would update the state of Murphy when appropriate.
Last October, Murphy agreed to an extension of a four -year rookie contract and $ 112 million with New Orleans.
The Murphy of 6 feet and 8 inches was established as an exceptional wing of 3 years and D after averaging 14.8 points and 4.9 rebounds mainly in a reserve role last season.
The Pelicans have been out of the Playoffs containment, partly due to injuries, and are 18-51 in the last 13 games of the season.
