GI boss Chris Dring will explain life’s business periods with ‘An Hour Not to Remember? Five things to understand about the video game industry in 2024 (and some predictions)’ in which he will offer a data-focused study of the moment that addresses layoffs and studio closures, and the outlook for 2025.
Meanwhile, editor-in-chief James Batchelor will host a panel on “The Blonde Age of Gaming Diversification Secured: How Video Games, TV, and Hollywood Creators Can Create Unused Worlds in Combination.”
This panel features Amanda Kruse of Obese Fan, Etienne Bouvier of Ubisoft, and John Gillard of The Gillard Consultancy, where they will discuss how games can work with entertainment intellectual property and vice versa.
Alternative trading periods come with ‘Get financing for sports construction – the backing is in the market’. Hosted by Jon Hicks, Gina Jackson of Pitchify, Gus Carley of Challenge Partners, and Nick Button-Brown of The Games Angels will discuss investment resources and how developers can access them.
‘Are you protected from lawyers? What a ruthless new time it is for builders with Sheridans senior worker Anna Poulter-Jones, you’ll discover how to tackle video games and what is and isn’t criminal, including the rules of personality, art and style.
The final meeting will be a panel hosted by Hicks, including Playtonic’s Sophie Shanks and Kepler Interactive’s Callum Owen-Vallentin, where they will talk about how to have a successful foundation beyond wish lists.
Life will end at 4 pm followed by networking drinks.
