The Cowboys are trying to end an inexplicable streak of teams being eliminated in their upcoming matchup with the Lions.

The Dallas Cowboys will look to do the impossible on Sunday: they will try to win a game in just four days against the Detroit Lions.

If you’re wondering why we’re bringing the Lions into this, it’s because they deny that the team this season was able to win their next game against Detroit. It seems like there’s some kind of hangover effect that comes from facing the Lions or you just got hit so hard that you won’t be able to win your game at that point, but regardless of the reason, teams aren’t just abandoning the next deal with Detroit, but they are being EXPLOITED.

It doesn’t matter if a team wins or loses to the Lions; This trend only carries over to the team’s next game against Detroit. Here’s a look at the Lions’ warring games so far in 2024 and how they made the current upcoming matchup with Detroit.

Occasion 1: Rams in Lions
The then recreation of Los Angeles: Lost 41-10 to the Cardinals

Occasion 2: Buccaneers in the Lions
Tampa Bay’s recreation at the time: They lost 26-7 to the Broncos in a game in which Tampa Bay was rated by six.

Occasion 3: Lions in Cardinals
Arizona recreation back then: Lost 42-14 to Commanders in a game in which Arizona was favored by 3.5

Occasion 4: Seahawks on lions
The recreation of Seattle back then: They lost 29-20 to the Giants in a game in which Seattle was rated by 7

Occasion 5: The lions say goodbye (I thank all NFL teams)

Occasion 6: lions in jeans
The recreation of Dallas at that time: The Cowboys had a bye in Event 7, they will face the 49ers in Event 8

Occasion 7: Lions in Vikings
Minnesota reenactment at the time: They lost 30-20 to the Rams in a game in which they liked Minnesota by 2.5

That’s five teams that have experienced a combined 0-5 matchup against the Lions, and four of the teams were expected to win. Also, none of these games looked very similar. The five losses came by an average of 19.4 points depending on the game and all five teams lost in two standings.

The Vikings were the most affected by this skid: after facing the Lions on Sunday, they turned round and lost to the Rams on Thursday night.

The only advantage for the Cowboys is that they had an upcoming bye against the Lions, so they had a free opportunity to regroup after their loss to Detroit. None of the other teams got a bye, so that could possibly influence Dallas’ bias, but when they lose to the 49ers on Sunday, Cowboys fans can blame the Lions.
