The Browns sign the offensive liner of the free agent Teven Jenkins

The Cleveland Browns signed the Guard of Free Agent Teven Jenkins on Thursday with a contract.

Jenkins, 27, was recruited 39th in general by the Chicago Bears in 2021 and lost most of his rookie season after undergoing back surgery. Originally recruited as a Tackle for the former main office of the Bears, Chicago transferred Jenkins from the left Tackle to the right to the right guard during the 2022 season. He finally made the transition to the left guard, where he played 22 games between 2023 and 24.

When available, Jenkins was possibly the best offensive liner in Chicago (four captures allowed in 2024), but multiple injuries forced him to lose 22 games during the first four years of his NFL career.

Jenkins was eligible for a contract extension of the last low season and told journalists that the Bears had said that they would participate in conversations with their representation after the team arrived at their farewell week in week 7. Those conversations never came to fruition, and Jenkins said he was “mentally” prepared to try his market in free agency despite being open with Chicago.

Jenkins has appeared in 45 games with 38 openings in four seasons.

Also on Thursday, Cleveland signed the corner Tony Brown II, who appeared in six games last season and had five cups in special equipment.
