While they’ve still been busy with the usual Major Order stuff, many Helldivers 2 fans have also been keeping an eye on the game‘s SteamDB page for the past week or so. And now Arrowhead has completely confused many of them by updating a warehouse that sounds a little more like Hell’s Kitchen than Helldivers.
If you missed it, the reason the database is getting more attention than usual from the Helldivers 2 folks right now is because Arrowhead casually updated a repository called “gameplay_illuminates” late last month. This, naturally, led to a lot of speculation among players that the studio might finally be preparing to roll out the long-rumored faction at some point in the near future.

While there’s been no movement on that front so far, players on the Helldivers 2 subreddit keeping an eye on SteamDB have now spotted another interesting name that they think could be Arrowhead having a little fun with the fact that he knows he’s hungry for information . People close by paying attention to the game deposit updates.
Yesterday, among updates to repositories with titles that you might expect from a video game, even if they could be interpreted as hints at certain things, like ‘gameplay_factions’ and ‘use_this_to_go_live’, Arrowhead also updated a repository called ‘pineapple_soup_is_delicious’. .
As far as I know, SteamDB doesn’t let you easily check how long individual repositories have been around at a glance, so this one might well not be new, but that hasn’t stopped players from interpreting it as a possible joke at their expense. You know, since it’s a pretty big change in naming pace from the weirdly easy-to-imply “gameplay_illuminates” stuff, and it’s even a bit different from the more obscure one-word repository names that Arrowhead uses.
“I think they finally remembered that SteamDB exists lol,” reads the top comment in a thread of players wondering what Arrowhead could be up to with this latest repository update, while others have sarcastically decided to take the update literally. Some have even jokingly suggested that the acronym it forms, PSID, could mean something like “PlayStation IDentification” (oh no) or “Pretty Soon Illuminate Day” (oh yeah).
Anyway, no one knows what this is about for now, other than Arrowhead itself, so it’s probably best to stick with the current modus operandi while waiting to see if more information comes in. Seriously, the forces of Super Earth need you, as it currently looks like they might be running out of time to capture Choohe before the order concludes.
