PITTSBURGH — A then-coach Mike Tomlin said he was “in consideration” to make his first start of the season, Russell Wilson took first-team reps in Wednesday’s practice, his teammates showed Wednesday.

“He’s been out there the last few weeks, so it’s good to have him getting first-team reps,” Dan Moore Jr. said.

During the visible portion of the court where video was allowed, Wilson led rotation drills in person followed by Justin Boxes and Kyle Allen.

Tomlin, however, declined to attribute specific snap distributions after the first practice of the day.

“I’m not going to go into the details of how we distribute reps and things of that nature,” Tomlin said. “It doesn’t benefit us. Both guys participated fully today and I liked it. I liked their participation.”

He was also silent when asked if he had a starter for Sunday night’s game against the New York Jets.

“Any decision made at this time is internal,” Tomlin said.

In his segment, Moore added that there won’t be many changes to the offensive series regardless of who starts in Sunday’s game.

“I mean, I can’t really pay attention to things like that,” he mentioned. “The control we can control. We just have to focus on our execution. I don’t think it’s going to change hugely. Obviously, designing quarterback schemes and running and things like that can change, but for the most part, our job will be the same. Keep them clean and get the running game going.
