Stalker 2 will receive its first post-launch patch in the coming days.

Developer GSC game World posted a message on the game‘s Steam page explaining that the first update will arrive “over the next week” on both PC and Xbox.

According to its notes, the patch will include numerous bug fixes, progression fixes, balance and gameplay adjustments, visual fixes, software fixes, and UI improvements.

These include “memory allocation issues and glitches, which previously caused the game to crash unexpectedly,” as well as fixes for “various bugs blocking main quest progression, NPCs getting stuck on items, incorrect quest markers and problems with the mission scenes.

The update will rebalance the price of weapons with upgrades installed (compared to their price without upgrades) and will modify the behavior of NPCs.

“We want to assure you once again that we will do everything possible to constantly improve your experience in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl,” the studio concludes. “We are really grateful for your feedback and suggestions for improvement.”

The full list of fixes can be found on the game‘s Steam page.

Last week, GSC game World acknowledged the “roughnesses” of Stalker 2 and pledged to make improvements to the newly released title.

After a long and highly challenging development cycle, which included the studio’s partial move from kyiv to the Czech Republic following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the post-apocalyptic shooter launched today for Xbox Series Pass.

While reserving praise for the game‘s setting and side stories, VGC’s review of Stalker 2 said the game suffered from “constant performance issues” and “an uncountable number of bugs.”
