While reserving praise for the game‘s setting and side stories, VGC’s Stalker 2 review said the game suffered from “constant performance issues” and “an uncountable number of bugs.”

In a message posted today on

“We understand that in a game like this, there can still be rough edges – we literally haven’t released anything of this scale before,” he said. “We are absolutely committed to being here, monitoring your feedback, and quickly resolving any issues that require our attention.

“In the first days after launch, we will work with hotfixes, implementing them as precisely as possible, but as frequently as possible. Then we’ll move on to bigger updates that include ongoing improvements. There will also be free content in the game; We will share their roadmap later in December.

“We have big plans for the STALKER universe,” he continued. “In a way, today is both a return and the beginning of a great new journey. We are lucky to have you before, we are lucky to have you now. The Zone belongs to you. Enjoy.”

At the time of publication, Stalker 2 has scores of 74 (PC) and 81 (Xbox Series X/S) on review aggregation site Metacritic.

The game is off to a good start on Steam, peaking at over 113,000 players.
