St Mirren drop Kevin Van Veen and Jaden Brown amid court cases

Following Brown’s court appearance, St Mirren announced on Friday: “Given the tribunal’s findings, the club needs to continue its own ongoing investigation into the player’s actions.

“Jaden may not be available for Saturday’s attack. We will make additional incorrect comments at this time.”

St Mirren said they were also aware of the ongoing criminal investigation into Van Veen.

“The club will carry out its own investigation into this matter and it is possible that Kevin will not be available for Saturday’s match,” they said. “We may collect additional incorrect comments throughout this proceeding.”

The 33-year-old is on loan from Groningen, having been on loan at Kilmarnock last season and joined the Dutch club from Motherwell.

Englishman Brown joined St Mirren permanently this summer after finishing last season on loan from Lincoln City.

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson admitted “it’s been difficult from time to time” but pointed to Wednesday’s 3-1 win as proof the team had risen to the occasion.

“That’s what I’m paid to do, worry about football, pick the best team possible and get results. “We had an incredible result on Wednesday night, a great performance at Ibrox, so things in the sound carry over into the right direction and that is my only central point,” he mentioned.

Robinson insisted that his players “have a favorable mindset” and that there is “a really right climate on the playground.”

However, regarding the players’ individual responsibilities, he added: “I am watching the players for three or four hours.”

“People are adults, the football club does not control the players 24 hours a day, but each one is very aware of their responsibilities, of how they should behave and the vast majority do so.”
