Zampa last played a first-class match in February 2023, but has a window in his schedule before the BBL to make a rare outing in the Sheffield Shield. He has previously spoken of still having ambitions to play Test cricket with an eye on the tour of Sri Lanka early next year. Zampa replaces young Tanveer Sangha for the match at the SCG.
“Adam is a very experienced cricketer and is a great addition to our group,” cricket NSW head of cricket performance Greg Mail said. “Having Zampa, Sean Abbott and Josh Philippe returning to the team after a fantastic win over South Australia in the last round is a bonus.”
Meanwhile, Bartlett returned to action in the recent T20I series against Pakistan, where he took five wickets in three matches, after suffering a side strain on the tour of the United Kingdom in September. Queensland’s match against Victoria will be a day-night clash, along with South Australia and Western Australia in the same round starting on Saturday.
