“Shaq is not the only Bristol Rovers player to have received racial abuse, with one incident under investigation just last week.
“Even more disgusting is that some of these messages come from people claiming to be Bristol Rovers fans. On each and every occasion, the club has tried to behave appropriately.”
The incident occurred just days after Luton Town striker Elijah Adebayo was the victim of racist abuse sent by an Instagram user after the Hatters lost 2-1 to Sunderland in the Championship.
Bristol Rovers said the “modes used to ‘fight’ racism”, the “carefully crafted press releases and saturated social media posts” are “not working now”.
The club’s commentary added: “Our fans, our real fans, are in poor health and bored of being connected in any way to those ‘fans’ who so easily send such hateful messages.
“To the person who sent Shaq this racist message, and to anyone who claims to be a Gashead and engages in similarly deplorable behaviour, we simply say this: you are not a Bristol Rovers fan. You are not welcome at the Memorial Stadium. “We don’t want your support.”
The warring parties also expressed their support for Forde and say they “strongly condemn” the abuse meted out to him.
“We will work alongside visitors on Saturday to ensure the perpetrator is identified and evidence is provided to the relevant authorities,” a royal commented., abroad fixed.
