What to know
The Warriors are 8-2 against the Spurs since February 2022 and will have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Having played yesterday, the Golden State Warriors will hit the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs at 8:30 pm ET at the Frost Bank Center. Despite being out, the Warriors are looking for a 3.5-point advantage in the difference.
On Friday, the Warriors didn’t have much room to breathe in their game against the Pelicans, but still managed a 112-108 victory. The victory marked back-to-back wins for Golden State.
Among those leading the charge was Andrew Wiggins, who went 9 of 14 en route to 30 points. He continues to advance, surpassing his previous point total in each of the last four games he has played. Less useful for the Warriors was Brandin Podziemski’s dismal 0-for-5 three-point shooting.
Meanwhile, the Spurs earned a 126-118 victory over the Jazz on Thursday. The victory was even more spectacular given that San Antonio trailed by 20 points with 1:09 left in the second quarter.
Harrison Barnes was the offensive standout of the game as he went 4-for-5 from downtown and had a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new personal best of three (four).
The Spurs worked as a unit and finished the game with 32 assists. They easily outscored their opponents in that department, as the Jazz only recorded 22.
Golden State’s victory raised its record to 12-3. As for San Antonio, the victory brought them back to an 8-8 tie.
The Warriors didn’t have much room to breathe in their matchup against the Spurs in their previous matchup in March, but they still came away with a 117-113 victory. Do the Warriors have another win up their sleeve or will the Spurs turn it around? We will have the answer very soon.
