New England patriots have not been winning either Out of the field lately. In the last two years, Patriots have only eight combined victory. Not only have they been found at the bottom of their division in both seasons, but they were also classified between the lower part of all NFL teams in the last two NFLPA surveys.
The survey was compiled during the 2024 NFL season and included responses of 1,695 players from the 32 teams. The survey is divided into 11 different categories within the teams: treatment of families, food/cafeteria, nutritionist/dietitian, costumes, training room, training personnel, weight room, strength trainers, team trips, chief coach and owner.
In the 2024 survey, the Patriots occupied the 31st of 32 teams, before the Arizona cardinals. The weight room and team trips received “F” qualifications, and in eight of the 11 categories the team obtained a lower C+. The best category was for the chief coach, giving Jerod May to B+ In his only season leading the team.
The owner of the Patriots, Robert Kraft, responded to criticism, saying he was “revealing” and added that the updates are coming. He said culture changed in the last two years, referring to the last year under the lonely season of Bill Belichick and May.
“It was a revelation for me and then I put it in context,” Kraft said. “When going through these last two years and the way things were and culture were there, I really opened my eyes because we believe we are joining and we have things, but it simply was not a good atmosphere. And we want to do our best to do this one of the best places I can go.”
Kraft emphasized wanting to return to a team that performs controls in the winning column, and its goal is to make Gillette Stadium a place that players want to call home. He expressed optimism that the team is directed in that direction.
“I think we had that for quite some time in terms of winning and people who wanted to come here,” Kraft added. “The last years changed it. Now it is the management and property work to do everything possible to create the culture to which this is a place that people want to come. I really think it is happening, and now we have to produce in the field. People have to want to come in this environment, and we are trying to do the different things that we can do that happens.”

An important complaint was about team trips, and although the Patriots have their own airplanes, there were comments that there was no Wi-Fi, the planes were small and an amazing note that there were ashtrays in the rests. The airlines began to prohibit smoking on flights at the end of the 1980s and was banned on national flights (less than six hours) in 1990, so questions about how many years were these planes were raised.
Kraft also approached this, refuting all the statements that there are ashtray on board.
“First, let me correct: there are no ashtrays on the plane. That goes back 30 years ago,” he said. “Has anyone gone to a plane with ashtrays? There are no ashtrays and I am willing to bet with anyone who says that.”
He continued, saying that they are working to improve the team’s flight experience, but certain obstacles have been on the road.
“We bought those planes to make it easier for our team to travel. It was very difficult to get airplanes.” We want everything we do is the highest of the pile and the first class. Instead of having to leave and float and everything, we wanted to control. We have let the airplanes be used by different charities. They have done much good, but they need an update. “
The other qualification “F”, the weight room, will also be addressed soon. In December, Patriots announced their plans to build a new exclusive football training installation. It is expected to be done in the spring of 2026.
