Ubisoft is finally adding Rainbow Six Siege crossplay between PC and console.
Cross-play support on all platforms will launch in December with the Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 4 update, Operation Collision Point.
It will allow players to match up with friends no matter what platform they are playing on, but if there is a PC player on the team, then the team will always be in the PC matchmaking group.
Cross-play and cross-progression for Rainbow Six Siege were originally enabled for PC, Amazon Luna, and a Stadia version of the game in June 2021.
Cross-play then became available between Xbox and PlayStation consoles in late 2022, when cross-progression was also enabled on all platforms.
“Advances to player protection this season include adjustments to the Mousetrap penalty to account for cross-play, automatic match cancellation if a cheater is detected, an overhaul of the reputation center, and AI text moderation,” he said. Ubisoft.
Operation Collision Point will also introduce a new special ballistic shield variant for Blackbeard, as well as balance updates for Ying and Sens, among other features.
Ubisoft said last month that Rainbow Six Siege has generated more than €3.5 billion since its launch in 2015.
By comparison, the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise has generated around €4 billion since its debut in 2007.
