PS5 Pro price has had no “negative impact” on sales, says Sony boss

Sony says that despite “different feedback” about the high price of the PS5 Pro, the “price […] has not had a negative impact” on sales.

As Genki_JPN discovered, Sony President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki said the system was “aimed” at “heavy users,” not casual gamers.

“Hardcore users are the target of this hardware,” Totoki said.

“In terms of pricing, a lot of people made different comments about it, but I don’t think the price of PS5 Pro has had a negative impact.”

Sales of Sony’s PS5 consoles have exceeded 65 million units. Sony says growth in its gaming and network services division can be attributed to increased sales of its third-party game subscriptions, DLC and PlayStation Plus.

131.3 million games were shipped in the first half of the financial year, of which 11.3 million were first-party games. 1.5 million of them come from Astro Bot, which debuted in September.
