PlayStation Plus Essentials lineup for September 2023 will reportedly be headlined by 2022’s Saints Row reboot.

According to Dealabs user Billbil-kun, who has been correctly predicting PlayStation Plus lineups for the past two years.

PS Plus subscribers will be able to claim Saints Row as well as two additional unnamed titles from September 5 to October 3, according to the user. The official announcement of the September 2023 PS+ Plus selection is expected to take place on August 30.

PlayStation Plus users have until September 4 to claim August’s Essential titles. Among them are PGA Tour 2K23 (PS5, PS4), Dreams (PS4), and Death’s Door (PS5, PS4).

In August 2022, Volition’s Saints Row reboot was released for consoles and PCs (via the Epic Games Store). This month saw the release of the game’s third piece of DLC content, as well as a Steam version.

The game was described as a “buggy, dull mess” in a Saints Row review, and it currently has Metacritic scores of 61-65.

When speaking at Embracer’s AGM in September, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors stated that he was personally disappointed by the response to Saints Row.

“I had hoped for a better response to the game,” he said at the time. “It’s been very divisive.” There are a lot of things that could be said in detail about it, but I’m happy to see so many gamers and fans happy, but I’m also sad to see so many fans unhappy, so it’s difficult.”
