The 76oers striker of Philadelphia, Paul George, is consulting with doctors this week about treatment options for their injuries in groin and knee, including a possible procedure, sources told ESPN on Thursday.
A decision is expected earlier next week, since George meets doctors to finish the best route, the sources said.
George, 34, has played through groin, finger and knee ailments this season, fighting multiple injuries during the past month. The sources said he received pain injections for five consecutive games before the rest of the NBA All-Star in February.
George, who signed a maximum treatment of four years and $ 212 million with the 76ers in July after five seasons with the Clippers, averages 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 41 games.
During the preseason, George suffered a hyperextension of his left knee that forced him to miss the first five games of the regular season. He spoke the same knee in November, which cost him three games. In January, his left little finger was injured, and more recently he has been marginalized with the pain of the left groin that has forced him to lose the last four philadelphia games.
George announced at the end of last month that he was moving away from his podcast, “Podcast P with Paul George”, to focus on his health and change the 76ers season.
“I have not been the healthiest, so it has only been doing a lot of work so that my body is as healthy as possible, and to keep the focus of being obviously here and try to change things here and the full approach is trying to gather this team,” George said about the decision to stop his podcast.
Philadelphia on February 28 he ruled out 2022-23 MVP Joel Embiid for the rest of the season, and now George is probably directed by the same route.
The first round of the 76ers in this year’s NBA draft is protected among the first six; Otherwise, the selection goes to Oklahoma City Thunder. The 76ers (22-43) have gone through having the record of sixth or seventh place in the league in recent weeks.
