Patrick Mahomes ankle injury update: Andy Reid says Chiefs QB ‘hasn’t missed anything’ in practice

The Kansas City Chiefs had the scare of a season on “Monday Night Football,” when it appeared quarterback Patrick Mahomes had suffered a major injury. He had to be assisted off the field by the team’s medical staff, and although there was no contact, the fact that Mahomes initially couldn’t put weight on his leg made Chiefs fans think their worst fears had come true.

Mahomes explained what happened after the game and said: via NFL.com“…he twisted his ankle a little bit awkwardly.”

“It’s definitely scary, I think it hurt more because it was the same ankle I sprained last week.”

Mahomes recovered quickly after throwing the touchdown pass and never missed a single play in the 30-24 overtime victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Just as he didn’t miss a single moment in the Week 9 game, he also showed up all week to practice.

“Nothing has been lost,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. saying on Friday. “He’s done a good job.”

The three times Super Bowl MVP is listed on the injury report with an ankle injury and participated fully on Wednesday and Thursday as he prepares for the next matchup.

So far this season, Mahomes has thrown for 1,942 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The bosses are looking to stay perfect on sunday when they face the Denver Broncos in a divisional matchup. The Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the league at 8-0.

The only player ruled out against the Broncos is wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who has a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice this week.
