Get ready friends, one of the best video game adaptations that exist will have a new season on Netflix. Is night castlevania! Courtesy of a new trailer, we have one last sneak peek at what’s coming next in the saga of Belmonts and vampires before the new season arrives on January 16.
This new trailer, which you can watch below, reunites us with the gang of less depressed twenty-somethings in France (and their grandfather) and appears to be a direct continuation of the climactic events of the first season. It looks like the crew is headed to Paris, where the vampires are headed to behead the revolutionaries and drink wine. Just like you do!
As of this writing, the trailer has almost 400,000 views on YouTube alone, which isn’t bad at all. It also has a dramatic rendition of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, which is an especially nice touch. All in all, it looks to be an exciting conclusion to the Nocturne series, and we’ll be glued to the couch watching it later this month.
Castlevania Nocturne brilliantly picked up the baton passed by the original Castlevania series, also on Netflix. It’s hard to go from one cast of lovable characters and time jump to another cast. But, for what my opinion of animated video game adaptations is worth, the writers of Nocturne did a great job of keeping the spirit of Nocturne alive. Not to mention, the same brilliant animation (especially in action scenes) made it a must-see for fans of the original series.
