A lawyer representing Nintendo has reportedly reached out to Genki, the group behind a series of high-profile Switch 2 leaks.

Last week a lot of images and claims emerged from CES, which took place in Las Vegas. At the center of this is accessory manufacturer Genki. The company reportedly showed off what it claimed to be an exact replica of Nintendo’s upcoming system.

Company representatives also claimed to have seen a final unit of the system and shared information about the system’s yet-unannounced release date.

Now, in a video by Julien Tellouck, the journalist claims that Nintendo’s lawyers approached the manufacturer at CES.

“I talked to the guy from Genki, right behind me,” Tellouck said (translated by GoNintendo).

“He told me that Nintendo had already sent them lawyers. But Genki has nothing to worry about because they never signed any documents with Nintendo, no confidentiality agreement, no NDA. Therefore, the Japanese brand is safe.”

Genki has yet to comment on this, and Nintendo has made no comment on the leaks beyond telling a Japanese newspaper that the mockups were “unofficial.”

Earlier this week, a trusted tech leaker with a history of posting accurate renders of unreleased tech, such as Samsung phones and previous Pixel devices, posted a 360-degree render claiming to show off Nintendo’s upcoming console, which , he claims, is the most accurate view yet. switch 2.
