In less than two weeks, the perspectives will officially begin their trip in the NFL when they listen to their names called in the NFL Draft of 2025, the first step in what could Become stardom in the league. In the Friday episode of the podcast “with the first pick”, presenter Ryan Wilson and the former general manager of the Tennessee Titans, led Cartchon, did so, giving their favorite Draft comparisons of the next class to the professionals. They gave their reasons who reminds them of who, debating and sometimes Disagree.
Here is a look at some of his comparisons of prospects to professors by position:
Field marshal
Cathon said that as a pure field marshal, he would compare Jalen Milroe with Malik Willis. But looking for a comparison for a player who is “dynamic” and “so explosive with the ball in his hands”, he would go with Taysom Hill. Wilson said he has concerns about Milroe when it comes to a pure pocket step, but no one can discuss his elite athletics.
Cartchon added that Milroe has the same deficiencies that Willis had, being his processing a distance. Their strengths are also similar, being able to squeeze the ball in tight windows. Quarterbacks with less force of the arm that they have to be a “little more anticipatory,” Cartchon explained.
When it comes to the comparisons of the hill, the two are athletic and can do a lot with the ball in their hands. Milroe could find himself as a member of a field marshal room where he may not be the headline, but the team can turn it into packages without forcing him to enter the game.
“In today’s game, I am quite sure that you will not have a guy with this type of skill simply sitting in the bank,” Cartchon said.
“I am quite high with him,” Wilson started about Kyle McCord, receiving a little Cartchon setback in the comparison of Kirk Cousins.
While Cartchon agrees that McCord has grown over the years, he does not agree with the 100%taking, believing that Cousins was a “natural pin”, with the ball faster. Cartchon compared McCord with Jeff Driskel, who has bounced since he entered the League in 2016.
Runners
Cartchon compared Treveyon Henderson with Chase Brown because both stand out in zone race schemes and have the “ability to be decisive and explosive”, with their measurable also aligned. Wilson then predicted that Henderson would be one of the first corridors recruited this year.
Wilson called Omarion Hampton “special”, saying it would be a shock if he did not make him the first round. Carthon agreed and added that his comparison is Joe Mixon. Carthon said they are “two types that are a load to tear down” and “two types that are not shy when it comes to creating contact.” Cartchon added that both Mixon and Hampton stand out in pass protection as well.
Carthon said that Jaydon Blue reminds Jahmyr Gibbs due to his explosiveness and ability to make an opposite player lose, saying that the first defender never knocks them down. In the correct offensive, Cartchon can see Blue excels in a third -intention role, where it could be a problem to catch passes in the field. Wilson added that there is no doubt how fast Blue is and said his comparison is James Cook.
“I can see that, just that softness and ability to slide and weave,” Carthon said, responding to the comparison of chefs.
Wilson called Brahard Smith “Electric” and Cartchon added that he is a “big fan.” With Smith making the transition to the open receiver corridor, Cartchon said he will only improve, since this is still a new position for him. Once you have time to learn the nuances of reading and understanding the defenses, it will reach an even greater potential. Carthon predicted that Smith could even be used as kick.
Wide receivers
In terms of its size, the ability to play in the field and make the boys be lost, Wilson said Matthew Golden reminds Jordan Addison. Cartchon, meanwhile, sees Golden as a first round selection and would like to see him in an offensive that already has a receiver No. 1 to play opposite to him.
While Wilson admitted that “it is almost certain” he does not believe that Isaac Teslaa is Cooper Kupp at the next level, the size and being a great goal in the middle of the field were his reasons for the comparison. In terms of not necessarily trying well, but is used as necessary, Wilson made a second composition to Jauan Jennings.
Defensive backs
- Cartchon comparison: Micah Hyde (Quinta Ronda Selection, retired)
Wilson called Malachi Moore one of the “most intelligent children of this draft.” Cartchon intervened with his comparison with former Bowling player Professional Micah Hyde, explaining that both are “instinctive athletes” and “athletes superior to the average” with similar measurables.
- Wilson comparisons: Javon Bullard (Second Round Selection, Current Team: Green Bay Packers) and Brian Branch (Second Round Selection, Current Team: Detroit Lions)
Wilson said he was “ready to cross a wall” while looking at Jahdae Barron’s film, emphasizing his enthusiasm for the game and comparing it with Javon Bullard and Brian Branch. Wilson said Barron is a “boy of the costume” and knows exactly where he needs to be in the field. Barron has grown up in Cartchon, admitted the former GM, noting that a team could move it. In the countryside, Barron is “a real confrontation,” added Cartchon.
