Naughty Dog’s closest Gameplay will reportedly provide “a lot of freedom to the player”

Naughty Dogs next gameplay will reportedly have a major focus on freedom to gamer.

This is in line with MinnMax founder Ben Hanson, who mentioned that he had gotten some details about the secret challenge from “someone very knowledgeable, who worked on the game.”

“The tone was like, aren’t you all prepared for how amazing this is going to be, and the tone was: I’m not going to say the game they referenced to compare it to because I don’t want people to think that MinnMax said it was going to be exactly like that, but they compared it to a game with a lot of freedom for the player.

Hanson added that the sport that Naughty Dog’s name used to be compared to was not Hitman.

Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann said last month that he would like to see the studio focus less on traditional storytelling in event projects.

“Lately I’ve been intrigued by things like Elden Ring and Inside, which don’t rely as much on traditional narrative to tell a story,” he told The Washington Post.

“I think some of the best storytelling in The Last of Us (yes, a lot of it is in the cutscenes), but a lot of it is in the gameplay, in moving through a space and understanding the history of a space. simply. looking at it and examining it.

“For me, that is, right now, one of the greatest joys I get from gaming. [those] who trust their audience to figure things out, who don’t hold their hand. “That’s what really intrigues me going forward.”

On how this may prove increasingly cruel to Naughty Dog’s efforts, Druckmann added: “That doesn’t mean we’ll never have dialogue or scenes.

“I think those are tools in your toolbox and it’s about how to use all these different aspects, some of them from other media, some of them from other media. [as] found notes and environmental narration.

“I think there is a way to push those things, at least, for the type of games we make at Naughty Dog. I’m really intrigued – again, [we’re] Never rest on our laurels and try something a little new, a little different, that not everyone will like, but that’s okay.

“And again, these are things we’re working on right now; I can tell you that the teams are very excited about the different projects we have at Naughty Dog.”

Druckmann mentioned in July that several games, including “multiple single-player projects,” were being built at Naughty Dog, but stressed that not all of them will be The Closing of Us titles – they will serve a similar function.

“We create experiences full of story and characters, especially relationships,” he told the LA Times. “The stories have a kind of philosophical core around which everything will revolve and feed.”
