Monster Hunter Wilds director confirms that PS5 Pro patch will arrive on day one

Capcom has brought its target performance for Monster Hunter Wilds to life on consoles, confirming that it will be available on PS5 Pro a year later.

game director Yuya Tokuda shared the details in a familiar pre-release update covering various parts of the game following its detectable beta testing. PC specs have already been noted, but now console performance targets have been shared.

Both PS5 and Xbox Order X will come with a 30fps graphics prioritization system and a 60fps framerate prioritization system. Xbox One S will run the game at 30fps only, while on PC the frame rate will vary depending on hardware.

Deny that specific details have been included in the PS5 Pro region, beyond confirming that it will improve graphics and will be available at launch. Additional points will likely be included closer to launch.

“The target frame rate we have here was not achieved in the OBT version,” Tokuda mentioned (translating). “To be honest, it was an older version that wasn’t as optimized and there were also some rendering issues with the graphics when using frame priority mode.”

The full flow model has clear development in details like fur and feathers and is “getting closer to that 60fps target.”

The Xbox version of the game has had a similar evolution to the PS5, while on PC the development team is trying to reduce the minimum required specifications, although the details are still being worked out.

Capcom may be considering releasing a PC benchmark tool to help players decide if the game will be playable on their machines.

Today, Tokuda shared a snippet of the game to highlight the performance improvements along with the detectable beta testing.

The development team previously mentioned performance issues in the Monster Hunter Wild beta test.

“The purpose of this test is to allow players to experience a limited portion of Monster Hunter Wilds and also check various technical aspects such as network load and general functioning before the full release of the game,” he wrote on Steam.

“Please note that the final product is still in development. Certain aspects, such as game specifications and balance, may differ in the full version. We are committed to ensuring the quality of the final product.”

Monster Hunter Wilds is available for release on PS5, Xbox One X/S and PC (Steam) on February 28th.
