Modder Fixes Ashley’s Heavy Breathing in Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4’s Ashley’s Heavy Breathing Was Too Much for One Modder.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular horror games of all time, and it’s no secret that the game’s intense atmosphere can be quite daunting for some players. One particular aspect of the game that has bothered many players is the heavy breathing of Ashley Graham, the President’s daughter who serves as the game’s damsel in distress. This labored breathing has been noted by numerous players, and it bothered one modder so much that they decided to take action.

Resident Evil 4 is a game that thrives on its intense and scary atmosphere, with zombies, bioweapons, and evil corporations providing a constant source of fear for players. This formula has served as the cornerstone of Capcom’s flagship franchise for many years, and it’s obviously effective. The fact that the game sold millions of copies in its first two days is evidence that players are still drawn to horror games with stronger scares.

However, the recent remake of Resident Evil 4 is far from flawless, and some players have found the heavy breathing of Ashley Graham to be quite distracting. In response, the modding community has stepped in to help, providing a variety of adjustments and fixes. One mod in particular, created by Nexus Mods user NSA Cloud, simply mutes Ashley’s breathing.

Some fans have thanked NSA Cloud for this quick fix, suggesting that they too found Ashley’s breathing to be quite annoying. It’s even been suggested that it would be possible to address Leon’s grunts as well. Undoubtedly, a few more fans will be eager to try this Ashley mod in an effort to avoid the embarrassing situation of having other people hear a character gasp and wheeze so loudly.

This is not the first time that Ashley has been modified. Someone recently gave her enormous Dumbo ears as a joke, making her resemble her character model from the original game more closely. This demonstrates just how devoted and responsive the modding community is. With the recent release of the remake, it will be interesting to see what other changes they can make to the game.

It’s encouraging to see that the Resident Evil series is still popular, with RE4 doing well and a potential ninth installment in development. Capcom doesn’t appear to want to stop this juggernaut in its tracks, not when things are going so well for it. The RE name may have occasionally been lacking, but it still rules the survival horror subgenre.

While the heavy breathing of Ashley Graham may be distracting to some players, it’s encouraging to see that the modding community is so devoted and responsive. It’s clear that Resident Evil 4 and the entire franchise are still popular and going strong, and fans can expect even more scares and horror in the future.

Resident Evil 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
