The launch issues that plagued Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 have now been fixed, says franchise boss.
The latest edition of the company’s flight simulation series launched on November 19, and many players (including VGC) were unable to get past an initial queue screen.
Those who managed to get past the queue reported long loading times that froze at 97%, while those who managed to get past that reported slow loading assets and missing planes from their library.
In a statement recently posted on the game‘s official website, Flight Simulator director Jorg Neumann stated that these issues have now been resolved.
“We are pleased to report that the issues related to access and transmission have been resolved,” Neumann wrote.
“The capacity of the distribution layer has been increased to handle the immense interest in the simulator and reliability now exceeds 99.99%. Our servers and services are also working as expected.”
Neumann noted that a hotfix had been implemented three days after launch that “increased stability and fixed several experience issues.”
“We are currently preparing another patch for the week of December 2 with more stability improvements and other fixes,” he added. “Subsequently, we plan to deliver a third, larger patch during the week of December 9.”
Neumann also noted that some third-party add-ons for the older edition of Flight Simulator are causing “major issues” in Flight Sim 2024, “including preventing some users from entering the simulator.”
“Until we identify what content is causing these issues, we will temporarily disable all MSFS 2020 non-air content from MSFS 2024,” we explained.
The game‘s December 9 patch will add the ability for users to enable and disable content on their own (presumably to better isolate problematic content) and a safe startup option to disable third-party content in case the game crashes. start.
