Michail Antonio is taking “small steps” while his rehabilitation of a broken leg sustained in a car accident continues, says West Ham Graham Potter chief.
The 34 -year -old striker underwent surgery in a lower limb fracture after the accident in Essex in December, which led him to spend more than three weeks in the hospital.
It was reported, external This week, Antonio, who is the top scorer of the Premier League of West Ham with 68 goals in 268 games, is ongoing to return to the action of the first team before the end of the season.
Potter said it was “too soon to say” if that were the case and did not “want to put that type of deadline or a kind of pressure on it.”
“It is tentatively in the grass, but not so much. It is in the [anti-gravity treadmill] What helps in non -heavy support, “Potter said.
“They are small steps. It’s day by day, week by week, and then we’ll see. It’s great that you are making the progress it is.”
Antonio received a warm reception by West Ham fans during a walk prior to the match in the field before the defeat of the Liga 1-0 on Monday by Newcastle.
Potter said that Jamaica’s international, who turns 35 at the end of this month, was “intelligent enough” to know when he will be ready to return after such a serious setback.
“It is very determined as you imagine, and doing everything possible,” Potter added.
“But at the same time, you have understood why it has been, where the starting point was.
“Obviously he wants to play again, he wants to do everything, but at the same time he knows the situation he has had to deal with.
“Day by day you don’t progress much, but over time you do it. You simply have to remember that so you can stay strongly strongly.”
