Half time record
A win for the Clippers would push their record over .500, and in the two closest quarters of play they have put themselves in a great position to do so. They have a bit of protection as they lately lead the Suns 70-52.
The Clippers came into the game with an excess of motivation closer to the defeat they suffered in the last moment those two teams met. We’ll see if they are willing to flip the script or if it will simply be more of the same.
Who participates?
Phoenix Suns @ Los Angeles Clippers
Information flow: Phoenix 3-1, Los Angeles 2-2
How to observe
What to know
The Clippers will be in front of their fans on Thursday, but a look at the development shows they could use that credit on their home court. After playing the day before, they will do it again and host the Phoenix Suns at 10:30 pm ET at the Intuit Dome. The Clippers’ defense has only allowed 107.5 points per game this season, so the Suns’ offense may have its work cut out for them.
The Clippers head into this game closer to the minimum over/under of 219 that bettors prepared for last night, but even that ended up being too high. They were just one bucket away from victory on Wednesday and fell 106-105 to the Path Blazers. The Angels did not reside as much as possible and found themselves falling below the punters’ idea of merit they had upon entering the sport.
The Clippers’ loss came despite a good game from Norman Powell, who had 30 points and five rebounds. Powell’s efficiency made up for a slower game against the Warriors on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Suns didn’t have much room to breathe in their matchup against the Lakers on Monday, but still pushed ahead with a 109-105 victory. The win was even more impressive given that Phoenix was down until the 18th with 5:16 left in the first quarter.
Kevin Durant and Devin Booker were some of the Suns’ top playmakers, as the former went 11-for-20 en route to 30 points plus eight rebounds and four blocks and the latter scored 33 points. Durant’s night totaled four games in a row in which he has scored no less than 30 points.
Los Angeles’ loss dropped their record to 2-2. As for Phoenix, the win made it two in a row and raises their season record to 3-1.
The Clippers couldn’t finish off the Suns in their previous meeting last Wednesday and fell 116-113. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to copy itself? We’ll find out quickly.
