Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry Power Ravens Offense’s Historic Start This Season: Seven Incredible Stats to Understand

0

The Ravens received a historical efficiency from Lamar Jackson on Monday night (five touchdown passes, five incomplete passes) and another big game from Derrick Henry (169 rushing yards) in the 41-31 win over the Buccaneers.

Both players continue to put up game numbers that are fueling a historic start for the Ravens offense so far this season. They just might be the most electrifying duo in NFL history. You’ll see how cruel I am in a second.

Here are seven incredible statistics you should know:

1. The Ravens are the first team in NFL history to achieve at least 250 passing yards per game and 200 rushing yards per game in any seven-game span.. We’ve never seen an offense beat a team in the wind and farmland like this Baltimore team.

2. Jackson is on his way to being the first player in NFL history with 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a season. He already has the only season with 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards (2019).

3. Jackson is the first player to lead all certified quarterbacks in passer rating (118.0) and rushing yards (455) through Life 7 since Steve Young in 1992. He’s passing and running as effectively as any quarterback in the league today, a virtually exceptional combination.

4. Henry is on pace for an NFL record 2,120 rushing yards this season. The tide list is 2,105 thanks to Eric Dickerson in 1984. Henry’s 873 career yards this season are ahead of his 2020 day (775) when he reached the 2,000-yard mark.

5. Jackson and Henry are on pace to combine for 3,225 rushing yards this season. The NFL list for a duo is 2,442 between Eric Dickerson and Dwayne Crutchfield on the 1984 Rams.

6. Henry is the only player since 1970 to have led or co-led the NFL in rushing attempts (134), rushing yards (873), rushing yards (6.5) and rushing touchdowns (8) through Life 7.. He has 873 yards of speed on 6.5 yards per velocity right now, a crazy combination of volume and power. The last player to achieve both marks in seven games was Jim Brown in 1963.

7. The Ravens are outscoring teams with 997 yards this season, the most effective margin by any team through seven games since the 1934 Chicago Bears. Baltimore leads the NFL in nearly every rushing section on both sides of the ball. Discuss how to dominate within the trenches.
