After all, when the teams met in Cleveland on Sunday, Chase made up for the peace. Then he hit an 18-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, Chase stepping over Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II in an homage to Allen Iverson’s iconic pass against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2001 NBA Finals.
“I told everyone before the week started that there was going to be a lot of trash talking during the game,” Chase mentioned Cincinnati’s closest 21-14 victory. “That’s what happened. I got a little emotional today.”
The three-time Pro Bowler finished the game with five receptions for 55 yards and the touchdown that gave the Bengals a 14-6 victory over the Browns in the third quarter. It was when the kick began that Cincinnati wanted to get the franchise’s first victory in Cleveland since October 1, 2017.
That made all the midgame banter between him and the Browns defenders even sweeter.

In his life, Chase has made criticisms of the media that were not expressly clear. After the season, he referred to the Browns as the “Elves,” in reference to the team’s mascot that is also painted at midfield. Cincinnati ultimately lost the game, 24-3, in the season opener.
“It’s frustrating because I called them ‘elves’ and we just lost to some elves,” he mentioned at the end of September.
This while it has adopted a slower behavior. He mentioned that on two recent occasions, Professor Zac Taylor told Chase that he didn’t want to say as much.
