Third quarter report
Only one more quarter stands between the Pacers and the victory they were favorites to achieve tonight. They have a bit of cushion as they currently lead the Pelicans 106-89.
If the Pacers keep playing like this, they will increase their record to 12-15 in no time. On the other hand, the Pelicans will have to settle for a 5-22 record unless things change (and quickly).

What to know
The Pelicans and Pacers are 5-5 against each other since January 2021, but not for long. The New Orleans Pelicans will take a road trip to take on the Indiana Pacers at 5:00 pm ET on Sunday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Pelicans are certainly hoping to end a 12-game road losing streak.
The Pelicans head into the showdown after suffering their closest loss since Nov. 11 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Kings by a score of 111-109.
CJ McCollum had a good effort for the losing side, going 6-of-11 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points. What’s more, he also recorded a three-point shooting accuracy of 54.5%, which is the highest he has recorded since April.
Meanwhile, the Pacers hadn’t fared well against the 76ers recently (they were 2-8 in their previous ten matchups), but they didn’t let the past get in their way on Friday. The Pacers outscored the 76ers with points to spare and took the game 121-107. Although the bettors were unable to determine the winner, they achieved the 227.5 plus/under points.
The Pacers’ victory was a true team effort, with many players putting in solid performances. Perhaps the best of them was Tyrese Haliburton, who had a double-double with 32 points and 11 assists. Haliburton had some trouble finding his footing against the Hornets on Sunday, so this was a step in the right direction. Pascal Siakam was another key player, shooting 9 of 11 and adding 23 points plus eight rebounds.
The Pacers worked as a unit and finished the game with 35 assists. They easily outscored their opponents in that department, as the 76ers only recorded 18.
New Orleans’ loss dropped its record to 5-21. As for Indiana, its victory raised its record to 11-15.
The Pelicans hope to beat the odds on Sunday as experts believe they are headed for a loss. This game will be their eighth consecutive game as underdogs (so far in this stretch they are 4-3 against the spread).
The Pelicans came up short against the Pacers in their previous meeting in November, falling 114-110. A major factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Haliburton, who posted a double-double with 34 points and 13 assists. Back with a vengeance, can the Pelicans stop him this time?
