Images from the now scrapped Transformers: Reactivate have surfaced online.
The game, which can be seen below, appeared online following the news that developer Splash Damage had canceled Transformers: Reactivate this week.
The London-based studio behind Gears Tactics, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Dirty Bomb announced the news Wednesday in an X post.
“Today we have some very difficult news to share: the decision has been made to end development on Transformers: Reactivate,” he said.
“This means we will scale back to refocus our efforts on other projects. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, several roles at the studio are now at risk of being redundant.”
It is unknown where the leaked gameplay footage originated, but it appears to be from a development version of the game. The images show third-person shooting, as well as vehicle combat.
Announced for PC and consoles in December 2022, Transformers: Reactivate was intended to be a 1-4 player cooperative action game.
“This decision was not made lightly and it is a difficult time for the studio and our people,” Splash Damage’s statement continued. “We want to take a moment to thank the team that worked on Transformers for their dedication and passion.
“Hasbro was an incredible and supportive partner throughout, and we look forward to working with them again. To the many fans, your enthusiasm and support kept us going.
Tencent-owned Splash Damage announced in October 2021 that it was working on an original sci-fi IP.
