Earlier today, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead rolled out the initial part of the game‘s first crossover. It’s a rig inspired by the PlayStation idle shooter Killzone, but the prices players are asked to pay for this stuff have sparked some backlash.
Basically, as we reported in our story this morning about the rollout of this Helldivers gonna. Not being that far off from the 1000 super credits (which is HD2’s in-game currency), people are used to paying for a full Warbond that contains a lot of stuff.

Now, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani has taken to the game‘s Discord server to address this pricing criticism from Super Earthers.
“Hey, briefly comment on the Helghast stuff,” he wrote in an initial post. “First of all, this is our first collaboration, so we’ll figure it out as we go. Let us know what you’d like to see in Second, it’s optional: the more we sell, the more lighting-type stuff we can keep releasing for free.”
Jorjani then did what high-profile Helldivers 2 developers usually do when they appear on the server in this way and responded directly to some players who responded to his message. “To be clear, that’s not what we want to do,” he told one, accusing Arrowhead of “planting the seed of the possibility of having to pay for content or non-collaborative updates in people’s heads.” ” with this team, adding: “But the better the overall business performs, the bigger and better the continuous free updates will be.”
While sticking to the point of view that “if we monetize optional things we can include more fun things,” the CEO acknowledged the criticism and suggested that the studio will be receptive to the “valid” negative feedback it has received about these prices. “Our intention was to try different things and see how players respond, how they sell and improve over time,” he wrote in one of his final posts during this little chat with the server.
