1st quarter report
Only three more quarters stand between the Nuggets and the victory they were favorites to achieve tonight. They have built a quick 29-22 lead against the Clippers.

The Clippers have enjoyed a four-game homestand, but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face the Denver Nuggets on Friday at 9:00 pm ET at Ball Arena after having a few days off. The Clippers’ defense has only allowed 107.4 points per game this season, so the Nuggets’ offense will have its work cut out for it.
Last Sunday, the Clippers came up short against the Rockets and fell 117-106. Unfortunately, the loss continues a disappointing trend for Los Angeles in their matchups with Houston: They’ve already lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets made easy work of the Hawks on Sunday and cruised to a 141-111 victory. The success was a return to normalcy for Denver, who in its previous outing suffered a shocking 122-113 loss to Washington.
Nikola Jokic was excellent as always, posting a double-double with 48 points and 14 rebounds. His night adds up to six games in a row in which he has scored at least 30 points. The team also received help courtesy of Michael Porter Jr., who went 12 of 17 en route to 26 points plus seven rebounds.
The Nuggets were working as a unit and finished the game with 43 assists (ranked first in assists per game overall). That’s the most assists they’ve posted since December 2023.
Los Angeles’ loss dropped their record to 14-11. As for Denver, their win ended a three-game road drought and puts them at 12-10.
The Clippers hope to beat the odds on Friday as experts believe they are headed for a loss. It might be worth making a quick bet as they have covered the spread the last four times they played Denver.
The Clippers didn’t have much breathing room in their matchup against the Nuggets in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still came away with a 126-122 victory. The rematch could be a little more difficult for the Clippers since this time the team will not have the home field advantage. We’ll see if the change of venue makes a difference.
