Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers felt his team contributed to their own downfall in the second half.
Jamie McGrath’s best pass broke through Celtic’s central defense as Ester Sokler reduced the deficit before Graeme Shinnie’s deflected attempt leveled Daizen Maeda’s talented effort for the guests.
“I felt like we were punished for being careless in that 10-minute period,” Rodgers said.
“We had good control in the first half, we should have been more forward and then, probably around the 50th to 60th minute, a little passive without the ball, we lacked aggression.”
Rodgers identified that “really good defense and goalkeeping” prevented a Celtic winner despite “32 or so shots on goal”.
“I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect, coming with all the guys traveling the world and coming back together, but I expected us to take that game to the end,” he mentioned, referring to global fatigue.
Rodgers, however, praised Thelin for his double change at half-time, with Sokler scoring with almost his first contact with the ball.
“You have to give them a lot of credit for that, and Jimmy and his team are well trained, well organized and the changes worked for him,” he mentioned.
“But when I look at it from our perspective, he doesn’t get any direct passes if our press is right.”
