Half-Life 2 and Dishonored Art Lead Viktor Antonov dies with only 52 years


Half-Life 2 art director and dishonored designer Viktor Antonov died with only 52 years.

The former valve writer Marc Laidlaw revealed the news on social networks, saying that he had no details of Antonov’s death, but had confirmed that the “visionary art leader” had died.

“I didn’t want to say much until I felt it was confirmed, but today I learned that Viktor Antonov, our visionary art leadership in HL2, died,” said Laidlaw.

“I have no details. Only sadness. Bright and original. He did everything better.”

Antonov moved from Bulgaria to Paris when he was only 17 years old and went to work or consulted in several notable games, including Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, dishonor. Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Doom and Prey.
