The official destination page of Ghost of Y & Omacr; Tei received a small update yesterday, with a new information about the next Sucker Punch game hidden there.
Immediately, along with some more details in history, the developer has remained committed to his 2025 launch window on PS5. There were some speculations that the study and playstation can push it a touch to give way to GTA 6; A game that many expect will dominate the panorama of the games when this fall is released (unless it is delayed).
In terms of history, although we knew Ghost of Y & Omacr; The protagonist of Tei Atsu had a mission of revenge of some kind, now we have a little more background about why.
This is what the updated ghost of Y & Omacr; Tei Synopsis says:
“300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, a new warrior, Atsu, rises from the ashes of his farm.
“Full of fury and determination, Atsu will hunt those responsible for the death of your family and demand your revenge. Each strange work and generosity will provide the currency you need for your trip. But how it fights, survives and evolves the legend of the ghost, will depend on you.”
Together with the fact that we now know that ATSU is looking for revenge for his devastation at home and family, that mention of “every strange and generosity work” has also caused some intrigue. It sounds like Y & Omacr’s ghost; TEI can include a mechanics of rewards, and perhaps having some type of economy in the game, which would spice a touch to the world of the game.
The developer said previously that he was going to guarantee Y & Omacr’s ghost; Tei had a less repetitive open world compared to its predecessor, with criticism for the ghost of Tsushima often aimed at its somewhat repetitive activities.
In October, the creative director of Sucker Punch, Jason Connell, said: “A challenge that comes with an open world game is the repetitive nature of doing the same again. We wanted to balance that and find unique experiences.”
Ghost of Y & Omacr; Tei appeared for the first time in a PlayStation game last year.
“To create something fresh but familiar, we look beyond the story of Jin Sakai and the island of Tsushima, and we changed our focus on the idea of the ghost,” wrote Sucker Punch Punch Andrew Goldfarb communications at that time. “In Sucker Punch we love origin stories, and we wanted to explore what could mean having a new hero with a ghost mask and discovering a new legend.
“This led us to Ghost of Y & Omacr; Tei: a new protagonist, a new story to develop and a new region of Japan to explore.”
