Game Informer returns after being shut down by GameStop

game Inform has returned after being closed by Gamestop in August 2024.

In a letter from the chief editor Matt Miller, he revealed that the publication had been bought by Gunzilla Games.

The firm secured the rights of the brand, with game Reporter operating independently of the study under the Entity Integ Entity.

The entire team, which was previously fired, has returned and the website has been reinstated with its subsequent content. When it closed, the site was completely stripped of articles that prevented the staff from keeping their work.

“From the beginning, the new owners insisted on the idea that the game informant remains an independent editorial exit,” Miller wrote.

“They felt as strongly as our team made it the only way to follow for us with an editorial group that made 100% of the decisions about what we covered and how we do it without any influence from them or anyone else.”

“Our intention is to focus on highlighting the best games, celebrating the history and legacy of the game industry, and highlighting the creators and players who are drawing their future.”

Miller concluded: “I am deeply grateful for the confidence and enthusiasm of the Gunzilla Games team; they see the same potential in the game informant as our team, and their breath to make it ethically and free of external pressure is commendable.”
