Elden Ring cooperative spin-off Nightreign network test announced and you’ll be able to sign up soon

The Elden Ring team will host a network test for their upcoming co-op spin-off, Nightreign.

The test itself will take place in February and will serve as a “preliminary check” test for a handful of selected testers. As expected, those who manage to secure a spot in the network test will be able to play a portion of the game before its release.

I know plenty of people who will be eager to try it (ahem, Ed).

“Various technical verifications of online systems will be examined by conducting large-scale network load testing,” the Elden Ring: Nightreign information page reads.

Those interested in participating in the next network test will be able to register to participate starting January 10. According to the network test website, it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

“Build your resolve, Nightfarers,” the Elden Ring team wrote on social media.

As Ed reported last night, players who play Elden Ring: Nightreign at launch will have to “survive a cycle of three days and nights, making split decisions about combat and exploration across shifting maps to become strong enough to defeat scary bosses.” at the end of each day.”

This will return players to Roundtable Hold, but the game will take place in a parallel universe to Elden Ring. In Nightreign’s debut, there will be eight set characters for players to choose from, and each night the map will shrink in size. And of course, there will be many enemies to fight.

“Each session will culminate on the third night, when they must face the chosen Nightlord,” reads the official blurb for the spin-off. “Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to overcome these challenges, combining their unique abilities for an unparalleled experience in the Elden Ring universe.

“All is not lost for those who fall to defeat; failed runs will grant players relics that allow them to customize and upgrade their characters to suit their personal play styles.”

Last week, FromSoftware boss Hidetaki Miyazaki stated that Elden Ring 2 is not in development. However, this standalone spinoff is still expanding on the franchise, and not long after Elden Ring received its widely praised Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
