EA Sports FC 25 debuted atop the US Circana charts in September and achieved the highest current gross sales of any moment-immune soccer sport.
It saw “double-digit percentage growth” compared to EA Sports FC 24 during its initial reveal last year, and topped both slates for the PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
PlayStation exclusive Astro Bot came in second and also debuted as the 25th best-selling game so far this year.
Completing Control 5, Madden NFL 25 moved two areas to Negative.3 after The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Knowledge debuted in Negative.4. EA Sports School Soccer 25 also fell two places to Negative 5.
There were five untouched entries in Control Ten this September, including NBA 2k25 on Negative.7 and NHL 25 on Negative.9.
At Control 20, Surprise vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics debuted at Negative.16, followed by Territory Marine 2: Warhammer 40,000 at Negative.18.
On mobile, Supercell’s Brawl Stars increased its US spend by 64% in person following a collaboration with SpongeBob SquarePants.
Downloads for Extreme Warfare: Survival increased by 42% of current downloads, “reaching an all-time daily high of 430,000 and a new daily download speed of approximately triple what the game achieved before,” according to Sensor Tower’s Samuel Aune .
US consumer spending fell 6% for all of September to $4.3 billion. This fade was driven by a 44% drop in hardware spending to $251 million, the lowest monthly hardware spending for the show since 2019. Content spending also fell 3% to $3.9 billion.
According to Circana, consumer spending so far this year is 30% less than a year ago, at $2.5 billion.
Spending on video game content increased 3% to $3.6 billion, beyond hardware, up 30% to $2.5 billion.
